Responsibilities

Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
Improve the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of software solutions.
Measure and optimize system performance and identify performance bottlenecks.
Provide primary operational support and engineering for large-scale distributed software applications.
Gather and analyze operating-system and application metrics for performance tuning and fault-finding.
Partner with development teams to improve services.
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and balance feature delivery speed with reliability objectives.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
At least 2 years of experience in similar positions, such as Senior Software Developer or Performance Lab Engineer.
Programming ability in one or more high-level languages, including Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Expertise in cloud computing technologies, specifically AWS.
Solid knowledge and experience with Kubernetes administration, optimization, and CRDs.
Proficiency with provisioning tools including GitHub Actions and Terraform.
A proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
AWS vendor certification or equivalent is beneficial.
Experience in a Java-based development environment is beneficial.
Fluent English; working knowledge of German is advantageous.
