Responsibilities
- Ensure compatibility between equipment and software and analyze operational and systems requirements.
- Support design reviews and present technical briefings.
- Evaluate, document, and test data security and continuity of operations for systems and programs.
- Provide technology recommendations and solutions to senior management and professional staff.
- Develop and analyze business and system object models and simulations.
- Recommend system characteristics involving storage, processing speed, and I/O requirements.
- Coordinate the activities of developers and engineers.
- Provide enterprise systems architecture expertise across common processes, architectures, and standards.
- Develop strategies for enterprise-wide methodology and tool implementation and technology changes across front-end, middle-tier, and backend layers.
- Convert Perl programs to Java.
- Modernize applications toward microservices and migrate applications into AWS.
- Create automated tests and support continuous integration and delivery tools and technologies.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in engineering or computer science is normally required.
- At least six years of experience designing and developing applications.
- At least six years of experience developing analysis and design documentation and software architecture documents.
- At least six years of Java and Java Spring coding experience.
- At least three years of experience modernizing applications to microservices and migrating applications into AWS.
- At least five years of experience with current network, development, and database architectures and technologies.
- At least five years of experience developing systems architectures and enterprise projects using iterative system development methodologies.
- Knowledge of advanced testing tools and at least one year of automated test-driven development experience in an agile environment.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools and technologies.
- At least one year of user story development or analysis experience in an agile development environment.
- At least three years of experience as a technical leader of software engineering or computer professionals.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps tooling and processes.
- Experience creating automated tests, preferably with Selenium.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; permanent residents must have lived in the U.S. for at least three consecutive years.
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust.
- Must be located in the DC-MD-VA area and work without third-party vendors.
