Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Rust- and Python-based user-space applications for Veo’s embedded Linux camera platform.
  • Contribute to firmware architecture and Linux platform engineering, including system reliability and diagnostics.
  • Integrate the camera system with cloud services and maintain REST API, OpenTelemetry, and AWS S3 integrations.
  • Build BLE and Wi-Fi connectivity features, including GATT services and mobile-device communication.
  • Develop application-layer protocols using Protobuf-based communication and data serialization.
  • Collaborate with AI, video processing, cloud, and other platform teams.
  • Improve monitoring, observability, state management, and operational troubleshooting across the device fleet.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience and a background in electrical or software engineering.
  • Strong foundation in software development practices, architecture, and design patterns.
  • Experience developing maintainable Rust or Python user-space applications for embedded device fleets.
  • Experience with embedded Linux systems using Yocto, including system services, D-Bus, device trees, state management, and diagnostics.
  • Experience integrating embedded systems with cloud services and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Experience developing BLE and Wi-Fi applications, including GATT services, connection management, Protobuf-based protocols, and mobile-device communication.
  • Familiarity with MCU development and RTOS environments is preferred.
  • Fluency in at least two of Rust, Python, and C is preferred.
