Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve relational or structured data models for hierarchical manufacturing data.
  • Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, integration, integrity-checking, alerting, and recovery processes.
  • Develop backend services, APIs, reusable components, business logic, authentication and authorization capabilities, and audit-trail functionality.
  • Build and integrate user-facing applications on a modern manufacturing app platform, including custom interface logic and workflow behavior.
  • Implement data-quality checks, retries, fallback strategies, exception diagnostics, and performance, availability, and data-freshness monitoring.
  • Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, QA summaries, and go-live reports.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering standards while collaborating with manufacturing and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining in-house, multi-user, web-based applications for internal stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience designing or maintaining relational databases.
  • Experience developing APIs or backend services, including authentication, authorization, data access patterns, and performance considerations.
  • Production experience integrating external systems, databases, or APIs.
  • Working knowledge of operational data concepts including data contracts, lineage, quality checks, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • UI/UX fundamentals sufficient to build intuitive, task-oriented interfaces and iterate with users.
  • Experience with testing, Git, CI/CD, and clean, modular, documented code.
  • Ability to break down ambiguous requirements and deliver maintainable solutions incrementally.
  • Clear communication, organization, collaboration, independent working ability, and willingness to learn new tools, low-code platforms, and manufacturing concepts.
  • Preferred qualifications include exposure to manufacturing or engineering systems, front-end or UI-centric development, Power BI, data governance or metadata management, workflow automation or low-code platforms, and cloud or containerization concepts.
