Base Salary

$90k - $145k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain, debug, and integrate embedded firmware and software in C and C++.
  • Develop embedded applications using real-time operating systems and support precision motion and control systems involving PMSM and BLDC motor control.
  • Design and implement low-level drivers for Serial, CAN, SPI, Ethernet, and related peripherals.
  • Build, configure, and support Embedded Linux systems using Buildroot and Yocto.
  • Integrate hardware components with embedded firmware and Linux operating systems and troubleshoot system issues using engineering lab equipment.
  • Implement CAN, I2C, UART, SPI, TCP, and UDP communication protocols and support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, MQTT, and OPC UA connectivity where applicable.
  • Contribute to embedded security and encryption capabilities for connected products.
  • Provide technical leadership in software architecture, code quality, integration strategy, development practices, and platform scalability.
  • Mentor software engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Partner with validation, electrical engineering, systems, and product teams to ensure robust product performance.
  • Support planning, prioritization, execution, and continuous improvement of software development across projects.
  • Follow software development processes, coding standards, and Git-based version control practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant experience developing embedded firmware and software with C and C++.
  • Experience developing software for embedded devices, Embedded Linux platforms, and RTOS environments.
  • Experience developing and debugging low-level device drivers.
  • Strong understanding of ARM-based architectures, including Cortex-M3, Cortex-M4, and i.MX platforms.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, I2C, UART, SPI, Ethernet, TCP, and UDP interfaces and protocols.
  • Experience with embedded development toolchains such as GCC, Keil, CCS, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical documentation, and datasheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software integration issues.
  • Working knowledge of Bash and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Familiarity with Git and standard source control practices.
  • Experience supporting embedded software for industrial, electromechanical, or motion-control-based systems.
