Base Salary
$140k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship batch transcription and streaming ASR API services for Plaud’s developer platform.
- Own inference API design, model-service integration, authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and developer documentation.
- Deploy and operate STT services across four global regions with on-call rotation, monitoring, alerting, SLO governance, incident response, and post-mortems.
- Architect high-concurrency, low-latency workloads using WebSocket or gRPC streaming, asynchronous job pipelines, autoscaling, and cost and latency optimization.
- Benchmark services against inference API providers including Deepgram, AssemblyAI, and Google STT.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for B2B customers and deliver API feature requests on defined timelines.
- Collaborate with the algorithm team on ASR model integration and with product on the developer-platform roadmap.
- Use AI tooling to accelerate development, documentation, and observability workflows.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend engineering experience with strong Go proficiency and production experience shipping and operating Go services.
- Hands-on production experience building and operating AI/ML-serving backend services, including inference API design, model-service integration, on-call, and incident response.
- Architecture experience with high-concurrency, low-latency platform services, multi-region deployment, streaming protocols, asynchronous or queue-based pipelines, and autoscaling.
- Experience designing and shipping public-facing APIs or SDKs with authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and developer documentation.
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency for developer documentation and direct B2B customer engagement.
