Responsibilities
- Analyze source code for security flaws including injection flaws and broken authentication.
- Oversee vulnerability scanning of applications and APIs.
- Perform threat modeling and architecture reviews for new projects.
- Create security documentation and contribute to security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Build, configure, and maintain SAST, DAST, IAST, and SCA tools and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Educate developers on secure coding practices and emerging threats.
- Assess user access to software-related systems and recommend least-privilege controls and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of information security experience.
- Meaningful software development experience with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or C/C++.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, web application security, API security, and secure architecture principles.
- Strong understanding of SDLC processes and comfort with command-line interfaces.
- Experience using open-source security tools such as Kali, Nessus, Burp, NMap, Metasploit, or Wireshark.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical details to executive non-technical audiences.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, OSCP, CEH, or similar are preferred.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure security and familiarity with Burp Suite, Snyk, Checkmarx, or similar SAST/DAST tools are preferred.
