Responsibilities
- Design and build resilient APIs, libraries, and tools for Brex engineers and operations.
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment.
- Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and production operations.
- Maintain high standards across codebases, infrastructure, and engineering processes.
- Build customer-facing products that create direct business impact and support Brex’s expansion into new markets.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer.
- Have experience creating libraries and tools for engineers and operations.
- Have experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
- Have experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Have familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
- Have experience with backend programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Demonstrate strong personal and team standards, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Be proficient or fluent in written and spoken English; interviews are conducted in English.
- Preferred qualifications include collaboration with product, design, and operations experts, familiarity with functional programming languages, strong writing skills, and a proactive approach.
