Responsibilities

  • Develop, ship, and maintain secure, tested, and performant Flow Registry features across the Duo Workflow Service and GitLab monolith backend.
  • Design, implement, and review GraphQL and REST APIs, backend logic, and contracts with frontend clients.
  • Collaborate with product management, UX, frontend, backend, and AI specialists to refine requirements and deliver product improvements.
  • Improve automated testing with RSpec and other frameworks.
  • Share engineering standards, patterns, and lessons supporting responsible AI integration.
  • Participate in Tier 2 on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve observability and resiliency.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and help maintain competitive Flow Registry capabilities.

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining production Python applications with LangChain and LangGraph, including background jobs, APIs, and data models.
  • Experience designing and shipping AI-powered backend features and integrations, including sound judgment about large language model limitations and responsible production use.
  • Proficiency designing or extending REST and GraphQL APIs with attention to scalability, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to work across the stack in a mature codebase and address application and infrastructure performance bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and Vue frontend development and user experience principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical proposals, documentation, and remote asynchronous collaboration.
  • Openness to learning and applying transferable skills from related technologies or domains.
