Base Salary
$130k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, delivery, and operation of large-scale, low-latency FX trading platform services.
- Build and maintain production-grade Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based applications.
- Deploy and operate Java services on Kubernetes across public cloud environments.
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues across application, platform, infrastructure, networking, and deployment layers.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while guiding architecture, engineering standards, and system design.
- Improve platform observability, reliability, alerting, troubleshooting, operational readiness, performance, security, and developer experience.
- Develop automation for detecting, preventing, and resolving production issues and reducing downtime and latency impact.
- Support high-performance trading venues, platform services, and real-time data processing components.
- Collaborate with global engineering, architecture, infrastructure, operations, and product teams on cross-system issues and corrective actions.
- Produce technical documentation, incident analyses, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on Java development experience and experience building enterprise applications with Spring Boot and microservices.
- Strong experience deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Java services on Kubernetes in public cloud environments.
- Experience with trading platforms, real-time systems, or other low-latency, high-throughput business-critical platforms.
- Experience serving as a technical lead or senior engineer influencing design, delivery, architecture, and engineering standards.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, system design, data structures, algorithms, and service-oriented architecture.
- Expertise in concurrency, multithreading, JVM tuning, memory management, profiling, benchmarking, and performance optimization.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues across applications, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, networking, CI/CD, and observability layers.
- Familiarity with TCP, HTTP, WebSocket, and FIX and with optimizing network communication.
- Experience with deployment automation, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience working in Agile engineering environments and collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills for explaining complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Kubernetes ecosystem tools; GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins; Terraform; and observability platforms such as DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch, Splunk, or BigPanda.
- Knowledge of trading systems, FX markets, market data platforms, order execution flows, or financial-market infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices across teams is preferred.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for observability, operational automation, incident diagnosis, test generation, code analysis, or developer productivity is valued.
