Responsibilities

  • Automate and build runtime production environments that bridge application development and production operations.
  • Validate solutions and implementations against business requirements and maintain platform integrity and efficiency.
  • Independently troubleshoot business and technical problems and develop small components to address specific challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate application and platform components into cohesive systems.
  • Estimate time and effort for medium-sized tasks and support project planning and resource allocation.
  • Use programming languages and shell scripting appropriately while reading, writing, and debugging code.
  • Guide junior engineers and advocate for platform and application development best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role focused on system architecture and development.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Docker, cloud-native technologies, distributed architectures, containerization, cloud services, and everything-as-code.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ansible, plus basic shell-scripting knowledge.
  • Proficiency with YAML and comfort debugging systems and reading and writing code.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, DevOps, and continuous integration and delivery theory.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include security automation, API Security, Container Security, Cloud Security, security architecture design, monitoring, performance instrumentation, Agile team experience, DoD work, production ATO systems, and DoD 8570 IAT II certification.
