Base Salary
$125k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-throughput backend services, core platform APIs, and distributed data stores for multi-tenant Risk Cloud capabilities.
- Develop with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Neo4j, Redis, PostgreSQL, and RabbitMQ.
- Write unit, integration, and service-level tests and partner with DevOps on cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor metrics, tracing, and alerts in Datadog; diagnose bottlenecks and optimize database query performance.
- Facilitate technical design reviews, decompose complex epics with Product and Design, and mentor engineers across squads.
- Use AI coding assistants, LLMs, and developer automation tools to improve engineering workflows and delivery velocity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise backend systems with Java, Kotlin, or comparable JVM languages and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining high-scale distributed systems and RESTful APIs in an AWS cloud-native environment.
- Hands-on experience with relational or non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and asynchronous message brokers such as PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
- Strong commitment to automated testing across the testing pyramid.
- Practical experience or demonstrated curiosity with AI coding tools, LLMs, AI agents, custom developer tools, or agentic workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, highly collaborative culture and attend occasional department onsites and company events.
- Preferred experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, Neo4j, Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI.
- Preferred familiarity with graph database modeling, event-driven architectures, multi-tenant SaaS design, CI/CD optimization, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Preferred holistic SDLC perspective and willingness to work across the stack.
