Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management and standardize deployment and release workflows.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, security, and scalability across distributed systems and complex integrations.
- Collaborate with development, QA, product, security, and operations teams to align deployment strategies with architectural and operational goals.
- Evaluate technologies, improve operational tooling, document best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and manage complex infrastructure solutions using cloud services, containerization, and orchestration tools.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers, conduct code and process reviews, and promote DevOps best practices.
- Support release readiness and rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field as part of a larger software development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or qualifying equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in DevOps or a related role; a higher-level degree may substitute for experience, and 12 years of related experience is required without a degree.
- Software development experience with at least one object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, or Go.
- Experience implementing microservices, containerized applications, and cloud-native application development.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift, managed Kubernetes services, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service.
- Experience with multiple cloud vendors, GitHub, on-premises Azure DevOps, Linux, release engineering, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to deliver consistent systems and environments, work with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively in fast-paced teams.
- Preferred qualifications include a related master’s degree, aerospace and defense experience, AWS Solutions Architect certification, Azure Developer or Solutions Architect certification, RHCSA, Red Hat container and Kubernetes certification, CKAD, CKA, advanced Ansible proficiency, release readiness coordination, and configuration control experience.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance are required.
