Base Salary
$147k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for vehicle control-plane, data-plane, configuration, fleet-management, logging, and SDK architecture.
- Design, implement, maintain, prototype, and review on-vehicle software for Android, Linux, and QNX.
- Optimize configuration delivery, data egress, convergence speed, and CPU and memory usage on ECUs.
- Integrate vehicle software with Azure, AWS S3, and Firestore cloud services.
- Define reliability, performance, privacy, resource-use, health-metric, and observability standards.
- Lead production incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and cross-organizational initiatives.
- Define SDK roadmaps, report risks and tradeoffs, contribute to open source, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of hands-on development experience in C, C++, and related languages.
- Experience developing for Linux, Android, and QNX.
- Understanding of distributed systems, configuration management, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Experience designing or operating control planes, fleet-management systems, or large-scale distributed coordination services.
- Experience with fleet-scale logging or telemetry software, SDK or library delivery, API design, versioning, and adoption support.
- Understanding of network communication and security protocols, including mTLS and certificate-based device identity.
- Familiarity with Autosar standards and experience leading initiatives across organizations.
- Expertise in software development, optimization, production troubleshooting, technical communication, and design documentation.
- Preferred qualifications include vehicle protocols such as UDS, CAN, SOME/IP, and XCP; AWS, GCP, Azure, IoT Hub, IoT Core, and Pub/Sub; OpenTelemetry, protobuf, gRPC, Firestore, Fluent Bit, OTA systems, automotive ECU architectures, and CI/CD automation.
