Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and operation of scalable software solutions and cloud services.
  • Architect broad system interactions and highly available, resilient distributed services.
  • Write production code and work hands-on across the software stack using languages such as Java, GoLang, and C#.
  • Define coding standards, engineering best practices, and operational excellence practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and recommend major product and architecture changes.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, support hiring, and raise the talent bar across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals and establish data-driven consensus.
  • Balance delivery speed and quality through iterative and incremental improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of software development experience, including scalable solutions and web applications; the detailed minimum qualifications provide alternate paths requiring 7–15 years depending on education.
  • Demonstrated programming ability in Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages, with 10 years of programming or scripting experience preferred or required in the detailed qualifications.
  • Experience delivering products through the full software development lifecycle and working with large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.
  • Experience operating mission-critical, tier-one live-site services.
  • Experience designing architectures for high availability, scalability, flexibility, and market-leading functionality.
  • Experience with databases, including six years of database experience in the detailed qualifications.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure; five years of cloud platform experience is listed in the detailed qualifications.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code languages, preferably Terraform.
  • Knowledge of computer networking, Linux internals, Linux/Unix troubleshooting, host virtualization, containers, and Docker.
  • At least two years of technical lead experience with or without direct reports and three years of operating budget or project financial experience are listed as preferred qualifications.
  • Strong communication, systematic problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
