Responsibilities
- Own the building and delivery of advanced video forensics capabilities spanning media processing pipelines, forensic playback, investigation tooling, and video format research and development.
- Design systems spanning multiple applications and services that scale, remain operable, and evolve gracefully.
- Lead cross-team design reviews and ensure consistent technical quality and alignment across teams.
- Turn contradictory, incomplete, or ambiguous requirements into coherent technical direction.
- Raise the team’s quality bar through design reviews, engineering best practices, and technical leadership.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers through technical and execution guidance.
- Communicate technical direction to leadership and participate in architectural and cross-organizational collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience mentoring engineers across multiple levels and raising the technical bar of a team or organization.
- Strong engineering and architecture fundamentals across multiple languages and breadth across the stack.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts and driving alignment across distributed teams.
- Ability to translate high-level concepts and customer needs into tangible customer deliverables.
- Desirable experience with video or media processing, codecs, streaming, or format analysis.
- Desirable experience with Azure cloud services and modern languages including TypeScript, React, .NET, Python, Java, or C/C++.
