Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain production systems and user-facing applications.
- Lead technical design and architecture discussions for features and systems.
- Write well-tested production code and promote engineering excellence through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Partner with engineering managers on technical strategy, planning, and execution.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering partners to develop scalable solutions.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services and vendor platforms, including build-versus-buy decisions.
- Identify and improve performance, reliability, and security risks.
- Mentor engineers and improve developer experience, tooling, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of professional experience building and maintaining production software systems.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including modern ES6+ patterns, and experience with Node.
- Experience designing and developing scalable APIs and web applications.
- Understanding of system design, performance optimization, and application security.
- Experience with AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Ability to deliver high-quality software in an agile, fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Preferred experience includes global products, growth experimentation or A/B testing, Svelte, Vue, or React, identity/authentication/payment/subscription APIs, cloud infrastructure automation, CMS or publishing platforms, and media, streaming, or direct-to-consumer applications.
