Staff Software Engineer

- Design, build, and maintain production systems and user-facing applications.
- Lead technical design and architecture discussions and influence technical direction.
- Write well-tested, high-quality code and participate in code reviews.
- Partner with engineering managers on technical strategy, planning, and execution.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services and vendor platforms, including build-versus-buy decisions.
- Identify and improve performance, reliability, and security risks.
- Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge.
- Improve developer experience, tooling, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of professional experience building and maintaining production software systems.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including modern ES6+ patterns, and experience with Node.
- Experience designing and developing scalable APIs and web applications.
- Understanding of system design, performance optimization, and application security.
- Experience with AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality software in an agile, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with global products, growth experimentation frameworks, or A/B testing is preferred.
- Familiarity with Svelte, Vue, or React is preferred.
- Experience integrating identity, authentication, payment, or subscription APIs is preferred.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure automation, CMS or publishing platforms, or media, streaming, or direct-to-consumer applications is preferred.
