Base Salary

$217k - $303k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define the backend architecture for onboarding signal collection, personalization pipelines, and experimentation infrastructure.
  • Shape the team’s growth engineering strategy and balance experimentation velocity with reliability.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Relevance, Feeds, Notifications, and other engineering teams.
  • Establish instrumentation and experimentation foundations for rigorous A/B testing and growth measurement.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional planning with Product, Design, Data Science, and platform teams.
  • Lead design reviews and establish scalable, reliable, maintainable engineering patterns.
  • Mentor engineers and raise the organization’s engineering quality bar.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience.
  • Experience steering cross-team projects that solve tangible business problems.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams solve complex technical problems.
  • Strong systems thinking, data-informed decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ranking, recommendations, and personalization in ML-heavy products.
  • Ability to design backend architectures, retrieval systems, and inference pipelines at scale.
  • Understanding of candidate generation, scoring, and model outputs such as Two-Tower models.
