Responsibilities
- Pioneer, evaluate, and evolve AI-assisted development workflows for embedded software, including coding assistance, agentic workflows, test generation, and documentation.
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and document embedded software across multiple hardware platforms.
- Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable C/C++ for hardware control, algorithms, communications, and real-time systems.
- Apply AI tools to engineering problems while maintaining code quality, security, engineering judgment, and trustworthiness.
- Improve development processes, tooling, architecture, automated test coverage, and engineering practices.
- Build and curate reusable first-party and third-party software libraries.
- Strengthen the codebase through architecture, code reviews, strategic refactoring, and testing.
- Collaborate with embedded, electrical, systems, product, and project engineers on new products.
- Diagnose hardware/software problems using debugging tools, instrumentation, and disciplined engineering practices.
- Prioritize work, communicate clearly, and deliver against project commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 4–8 years of professional embedded software development experience.
- Strong embedded C/C++ experience, including object-oriented design, memory management, microcontroller peripherals, communications interfaces, real-time task management, and interrupt service routines.
- Hands-on professional experience with AI-assisted development tools such as coding assistants, agentic workflows, or automated test generation.
- Understanding of version control, code reviews, automated testing, and collaborative software development.
- Experience debugging embedded systems with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, and other instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex real-world problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
- Preferred experience includes modular architecture, dependency inversion, hardware abstraction, high unit-test coverage, Azure DevOps, RTOS-based systems, embedded control systems, electronic schematics, board-level hardware, responsible AI practices, and engineering or technical leadership.
