Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed systems for the Network Automation Team.
- Define scalability requirements and optimize code and data paths for high-throughput, hyperscale workloads.
- Design fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Establish KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and validation mechanisms including fault injection and brownouts.
- Design replication and synchronization systems for correctness and durability, and diagnose production issues.
- Ensure operational readiness, mentor peers, implement security controls, remediate issues, maintain compliance documentation, and develop infrastructure-as-code automation for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems and reliable cloud services.
- Ability to address scalability, high-throughput workloads, fault tolerance, replication, failover, synchronization, and network unreliability.
- Experience with observability, telemetry, dashboards, alerting, production diagnosis, and operational readiness.
- Knowledge of security controls, remediation, compliance documentation, infrastructure automation, and change-management processes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, systems thinking, and peer mentorship.
