Responsibilities
- Participate in the analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, monitoring, and control of application systems and programs.
- Provide user and operational support to business users and consult with clients and technology groups on application issues.
- Analyze complex application, business-process, and system-process problems and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Design and develop Scala-based data pipelines and REST APIs using Big Data technologies.
- Develop security measures and conduct post-implementation analysis of business usage and system functionality.
- Install and support application systems and assist with customer exposure systems.
- Advise senior stakeholders and coach new or lower-level analysts.
- Manage project implementation activities, deadlines, and changing requirements with limited direct supervision.
Requirements
- Seven years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Big Data engineering using Scala or Java and Python.
- Experience designing and developing Scala-related data pipelines and REST APIs.
- Deep knowledge of Spark and the Scala API.
- Experience with Hadoop, Big Data, and Hadoop-centric schedulers.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
- Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting is a strong plus.
