Responsibilities

  • Develop and enable AMD x86-64 architecture features in the Linux kernel and related open-source projects.
  • Design and develop core CPU and SoC features across kernel subsystems including ACPI, PCIe, RAS, and CXL.
  • Drive features and functionality with internal and external technical partners and the Linux kernel community.
  • Support solutions offered by partner companies.
  • Review code, build unit tests, and write detailed documentation.
  • Participate in upstream development and open-source contribution workflows.

Requirements

  • Extensive expertise in x86 computing architecture and deep understanding of operating-system concepts, data structures, ACPI, and PCIe.
  • 6+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux kernels, virtualization, and security, with advanced Linux kernel debugging skills.
  • Advanced Linux kernel development and upstream workflow experience.
  • Advanced C programming skills for operating-system kernel and systems development.
  • Experience with open-source software development, including building and submitting patches through mailing lists and working with external software partners.
  • Experience with the GNU toolchain, Git, low-level debugging tools, emulators, and simulators.
  • Exposure to KVM/QEMU, including x86-64 virtualization extensions, is a plus.
  • Background in I/O and core kernel development is preferred, along with a successful track record of open-source contributions.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
