$105k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize UE Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol stack software, including MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NAS.
- Implement 3GPP-specified features and enhancements for LTE and 5G NR.
- Analyze and debug L2/L3 issues using protocol analyzers and logs.
- Optimize protocol performance and throughput under varied network conditions.
- Collaborate with PHY, L1, and higher-layer teams for protocol integration.
- Conduct functional and performance testing with UE simulators and network emulators.
- Track 3GPP releases and integrate relevant protocol changes.
- Support compliance with industry and operator requirements through cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide technical expertise and support to team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Three years of experience developing and optimizing Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols for 4G/5G UE.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills for real-time and embedded systems.
- In-depth knowledge of 3GPP 4G/5G UE protocols, especially MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NAS.
- Experience with Wireshark, QXDM, and UE log analyzers.
- Familiarity with RTOS/Linux-based development and multithreaded programming.
- Preferred knowledge of 5G SA/NSA network architectures and PHY-MAC interactions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, teamwork, independence, and task-management skills.
