Base Salary
$64k - $128k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Space Reactor–1 Freedom flight software and supporting software tools.
- Develop and maintain software using the NASA Core Flight Software framework.
- Support software requirements, interface definitions, systems engineering, and performance analysis.
- Perform software integration, testing, verification, and certification activities.
- Integrate and test software and hardware in avionics test beds and flight certification environments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across NASA programs and follow JSC software process practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Software, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong C programming skills and experience with Linux.
- Experience with software unit testing.
- Relevant internship experience for new graduates or one to two years of professional software experience on a relevant project.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and eligibility to access U.S. government facilities.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, human-rated space vehicle experience, safety-critical software development, NASA Core Flight Software, Python, full software lifecycle experience, embedded real-time operating systems, bus communication protocols, software and systems integration, automated and verification testing, GitLab, Git, Jira, and Agile development experience.
