Base Salary
$153k - $269k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and performant backend services and systems.
- Build and launch new capabilities and products for internal and external customers.
- Improve code quality, engineering efficiency, production observability, and documentation.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders across the organization.
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical careers.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture deep dives, and technology evaluation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend software development experience.
- Experience building production-quality, highly performant, scalable distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with Java, Scala, or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Experience writing thoroughly tested production code with clear documentation and appropriate production observability.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented concepts, data structures, algorithms, and systems architecture.
- Experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
- Strong customer focus, communication skills, and collaborative working style.
- Preferred: experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; IoT stack experience; independent ownership of features or components through the development lifecycle; strong product focus; and a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering.
