Responsibilities
- Architect fleet-wide OTA deployment, versioned rollouts, staged/canary releases, rollback strategies, and configuration management across heterogeneous robot hardware.
- Design and build hardware-in-the-loop test reporting, simulation-based regression testing, and pre-deployment validation gates.
- Build and evolve fleet management tooling, dashboards, and APIs for robot inventory, software and configuration versions, health state, and deployment status.
- Own the full deployment path from build artifact to a running process on a remote physical robot, including pipelines that gate on more than unit tests.
- Set technical standards and conduct deep design and code reviews across deployment, testing, and DevOps.
- Partner with engineering and research teams to build tools that increase team velocity.
- Design logging infrastructure and visualization tooling.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or Rust/C++, with experience building tooling and services.
- Experience building fleet or device management systems, including OTA updates, versioning, staged rollout, rollback, and remote configuration management.
- Hands-on experience with integration and systems testing for hardware-attached software, hardware-in-the-loop testing, simulation-based regression suites, and deployment pipelines with validation beyond unit tests.
- Experience with observability for edge or field deployments, including telemetry pipelines, structured logging, and alerting.
- Experience with containerization and edge orchestration or agent frameworks for deploying software to heterogeneous robot compute.
- A track record of making deployment and testing systems reliable and repeatable as deployed units and sites scale.
- Preferred exposure to functional safety concepts, electric vehicle OTA, industrial IoT, or similar field-reliability and fleet-management domains.
About Mind Robotics
Mind Robotics is building generalizable robotics for real-world industrial deployment. We believe the fastest path to broadly capable robots is to work on clearly defined, high impact problems. That's why we're starting where the need is most acute, and the environment is most exacting: the factory floor, in partnership with Rivian. We are building a lean, collaborative team where every individual has a massive impact. Researchers and engineers work hand in hand with hardware every day. We’re looking for builders who are passionate about robotics and live for the challenge of making systems work in the real world. Explore opportunities at https://www.mindrobotics.com/
