Responsibilities
- Build software prototypes and desktop graphical user interfaces for controlling, monitoring, and interfacing with hardware systems.
- Test software-hardware integrations and identify defects and bugs for resolution.
- Convert manual hardware testing procedures into repeatable automated test scripts.
- Support ongoing engineering development efforts.
- Participate in standups, sprint planning, pull requests, and standard DevOps workflows across Windows and Linux.
- Own a dedicated end-to-end intern project from initial concept through final presentation.
- Perform hands-on hardware testing and communicate technical ideas and solutions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Programming proficiency in at least one of Python, C, C++, or C#.
- Exposure to hardware drivers and low-level hardware-to-software communication interfaces such as serial protocols and bus interfaces.
- Experience with desktop GUI frameworks such as PyQt6, Qt, or WPF/.NET.
- Basic understanding of encryption concepts and data security principles.
- Willingness to learn GPS/GNSS technologies and positional data systems.
- Practical understanding of Agile software development and core DevOps principles.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Willingness to perform hands-on hardware testing that informs automation scripting.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to share ideas and technical solutions.
