Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and improve Android applications and reusable components aligned with agreed architecture and engineering practices.
- Develop customer-centric mobile experiences using Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based Android Views.
- Integrate applications with backend services, REST or GraphQL APIs, and cloud services using reliable and secure data-handling approaches.
- Deliver features, fix bugs, diagnose complex issues across devices, Android versions, OEM variations, and integration points, and communicate risks and mitigations.
- Ensure code quality through clean architecture, unit and UI testing, peer reviews, documentation, and governance processes.
- Drive Android performance, stability, secure coding, release readiness, development standards, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, security, backend, platform, and engineering teams while mentoring and sharing knowledge.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional Android development experience, including recent production application delivery.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and understanding of Java where required.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture, modularization, and dependency injection using Hilt, Dagger, or Koin.
- Experience building complex Android UIs with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views, including state management.
- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries such as ViewModel, Navigation, Room, DataStore, and WorkManager.
- Understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming using Coroutines, Flow, or threading.
- Experience with unit testing, UI testing, JUnit, Espresso, or Compose UI testing.
- Experience with Git, branching and release practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins or equivalent.
- Understanding of Android performance optimization, secure coding, authentication, secure session handling, encryption, secure storage, certificate pinning, transport security, and OWASP MASVS concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and issue-resolution abilities.
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects and priorities.
