Responsibilities
- Optimize the Cypher query planner to generate efficient and logically sound execution plans.
- Develop features for the Cypher language and Neo4j database.
- Work across the parser, storage files, indexes, and other parts of the core codebase.
- Profile, benchmark, and optimize performance-driven production software.
- Evaluate design alternatives, reason abstractly, and anticipate edge cases.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a distributed team.
Requirements
- Experience with performance-driven development, including profiling, benchmarking, and code optimization.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Scala.
- Ability and desire to learn.
- Preferred experience with Scala and/or Java.
- Preferred understanding or prior experience with database design and implementation.
- Preferred interest or experience in compiler development.
- Preferred strong foundation in algorithm design and analysis.
- Preferred interest in transferring academic research into production-grade products.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience developing high-quality, highly scalable production software.
