Responsibilities
- Architect and lead LPL’s centralized Enterprise AI Hub platform and shared AI capabilities.
- Define reference architectures for Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, MCP, and multi-agent solutions.
- Design and govern model, agent, prompt, and tool registries; LLM and AI access gateways; MCP and A2A gateways; and audit, monitoring, and compliance services.
- Architect secure data access layers connecting structured and unstructured data, vector databases, knowledge stores, data lineage, and governance controls.
- Lead AI experimentation, technical spikes, and proof-of-concept efforts through production implementation.
- Lead AI Platform Engineering, MLOps, and LLMOps capabilities, including onboarding, deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Define standards for agent onboarding, communication, interoperability, model governance, security, privacy, guardrails, and auditability.
- Govern AI observability, usage analytics, lineage, cost management, and compliance reporting.
- Evaluate enterprise technologies for foundation models, AI gateways, agent frameworks, vector databases, and AI governance.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, security, data, and product teams to align AI strategy with business objectives.
- Influence AI roadmaps, technology investments, governance frameworks, and long-term strategy while mentoring architects and engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, platform architecture, or distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI platforms.
- 3+ years of experience architecting and implementing AI/ML systems and data access layers, including hands-on platform services, integrations, and proof-of-concepts.
- 5+ years of experience with cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, platform engineering, and scalable distributed applications.
- Deep expertise in AI platform architecture, data access architecture, cloud architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, collaboration, architecture governance, and executive stakeholder influence skills.
- Preferred expertise with AWS cloud services, Kubernetes/EKS, API Gateway, Bedrock, DynamoDB, security frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Preferred experience with AI governance, security, compliance, observability, responsible AI controls, MLOps, LLMOps, model registries, prompt management, deployment automation, and AI monitoring platforms.
- Preferred proficiency in Python, Java, APIs, containers, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern DevSecOps practices.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
