Base Salary

$150k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and enterprise rollout of foundational cloud infrastructure.
  • Design and operate multi-cloud account structures, guardrails, shared networking, and identity.
  • Own self-service workflows for provisioning accounts, bootstrapping resources, and deploying through governed paved roads.
  • Author and maintain reusable Terraform infrastructure and establish platform engineering standards.
  • Establish enterprise CI/CD, testing, and deployment standards and drive adoption across teams.
  • Build self-service tooling that enables engineering teams to provision, deploy, and operate systems independently.
  • Evaluate and select cloud services, infrastructure tooling, and platforms, including build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the first infrastructure engineers and set the technical engineering bar.
  • Partner with engineering, security, and IT to satisfy government security and compliance requirements.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and support team adoption.

Requirements

  • Typically 8+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering with technical leadership experience.
  • Strong software background and experience building, deploying, and operating production applications on cloud platforms.
  • Deep experience designing and operating production cloud infrastructure at scale on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, including authoring reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure.
  • Experience establishing CI/CD, continuous testing, and deployment standards across multiple teams or products.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including HTTP, ports, DNS, firewalls, security groups, and cloud networking primitives.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools to deliver production code and automate routine work.
  • Ability to influence across organizations and coach and mentor teams through complex technical projects.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred experience includes enterprise-scale infrastructure, containers and orchestration, service mesh, artifact or registry management, developer experience, government cloud, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, IL4/IL5, enterprise networking, observability, reliability engineering, IAM, secrets management, and regulated or defense environments.
  • Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred.
