Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain monitoring configurations and integrations collecting logs, metrics, traces, and events from enterprise systems.
- Build and enhance Kibana dashboards, visualisations, alerts, and reports for proactive monitoring and operational decision-making.
- Create scripts and automation for monitoring deployment, configuration management, and recurring operational activities.
- Use observability data to support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Contribute to technical documentation, engineering reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvements in monitoring coverage and alert quality.
Requirements
- Knowledge of software engineering principles, scripting, and system integration concepts.
- Experience developing or maintaining scripts and automation using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or a comparable language.
- Understanding of operating systems, networking, virtual machines, containers, or cloud services.
- Awareness of relational or non-relational databases and foundational database performance concepts.
- Ability to analyse system behaviour, investigate technical issues, and contribute to resolution activities.
- Ability to collaborate with software engineers, platform teams, database administrators, and operational stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Awareness of security, compliance, and operational resilience in enterprise environments.
- Advantageous experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agent, or another observability platform.
- Advantageous experience with Linux or Windows administration and SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, or Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Git, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, or AppDynamics is advantageous.
- Must be an Australian citizen and hold an NV-1 security clearance.
