Base Salary
$98k - $174k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build platform capabilities that improve software development, testing, and delivery workflows.
- Design scalable backend services and APIs using Java or Kotlin within distributed systems.
- Create React frontend experiences for internal developer tools and self-service workflows.
- Build Kubernetes-based capabilities and strengthen shared infrastructure for platform reliability.
- Develop Python automation to reduce manual operational overhead and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineers across eBay to understand needs and shape internal platform experiences, including applied AI capabilities.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems, ideally with Java and Spring Boot.
- Frontend development experience using React for internal tools and platforms.
- Deep technical expertise in Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure, including operating and scaling complex development environments.
- Strong Python scripting and automation skills focused on reliability and eliminating manual operational work.
- Strong fundamentals in platform engineering, scalability, and developer productivity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a full-time hybrid environment and participate in standard engineering operational support and team cadences.
