Responsibilities
- Install and configure Preql using Docker images and Helm charts in customer-managed Kubernetes environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premise infrastructure.
- Design deployment architectures for individual accounts and ensure delivered configurations match the scope defined in the SOW.
- Configure private connectivity, SSO, SAML, IAM, roles, warehouse permissions, and secrets management.
- Navigate customer IT environments to identify and resolve deployment blockers proactively.
- Lead enterprise security and compliance reviews, including questionnaires, data handling and residency discussions, architecture walkthroughs, and escalations.
- Monitor production health in customer environments, perform upgrades, and provide first response when incidents occur.
- Maintain release and versioning discipline so every customer runs a known, supportable configuration.
- Create install automation, runbooks, and reference architecture documentation to improve deployment repeatability.
- Run customer installations independently and reduce the need for product engineering involvement in customer environments.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering, shipping into production environments outside the engineer’s control.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Depth in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus working knowledge of the others.
- Experience with enterprise networking and identity, including VPCs, private connectivity, SSO, SAML, IAM, role design, and secrets management.
- Experience with CI/CD, observability, and incident response.
- Strong SQL and data infrastructure literacy.
- Comfort working directly with customers on scoping, pushback, and communicating risks or bad news early.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and create missing runbooks.
- Strong signals include packaging and shipping self-hosted or customer-managed software and completing deployments through regulated buyers’ security reviews.
- Familiarity with enterprise data infrastructure and related finance systems is a plus.
