Base Salary
$82k - $172k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver production-ready RAG pipelines, conversational AI platforms, and multi-agent systems during 1–2-month program rotations.
- Build and customize generative AI solutions using vector databases, orchestration frameworks, managed AI services, observability, security, and cost controls.
- Integrate LLM APIs and AI services across cloud and on-premise workflows, including monitoring, alerting, responsible AI guardrails, and troubleshooting.
- Lead hands-on training, documentation, pair programming, and structured handoffs so teams can independently operate AI applications.
- Improve solution templates, create reusable implementation patterns, and document techniques learned through field engagements.
- Evaluate emerging generative AI tools and federal use cases through experimentation, demonstrations, and documentation.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience building production applications with Python or JavaScript, Git workflows, and modern development practices.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-powered applications, agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and observability concepts.
- Experience monitoring AI performance, addressing latency, cost, quality, and failure modes, and applying responsible AI practices such as bias detection and guardrails.
- Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting RESTful and event-driven integrations.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; containerization; infrastructure-as-code concepts; CI/CD; and secure API and key management.
- Understanding of basic machine learning concepts and their application to LLM systems.
- Ability to deliver solutions quickly in unfamiliar environments, manage evolving requirements, make trade-offs, and use reusable templates.
- Strong communication, documentation, teaching, and knowledge-transfer skills.
- Experience with GitLab, Jira, and iterative delivery practices.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Preferred experience includes agentic AI systems, observability tools, vector databases, guardrails, embeddings, structured outputs, AWS Bedrock/GovCloud, Azure OpenAI, Kubernetes, Terraform, React, FastAPI, and JS/TS/Python front-end or back-end development.
- Preferred qualifications include client engagement leadership, federal or DoD mission familiarity, ATO/NIST knowledge, open-source or technical writing experience, conference speaking, Security+, AWS certifications, or other relevant technical credentials.
