Responsibilities

  • Guide enterprise customers through the full lifecycle of Databricks deployments, including architecture, administration, and production deployment.
  • Architect secure and scalable cloud environments involving networking, private connectivity, identity, and compliance.
  • Provide technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, cloud networking, and identity management.
  • Build custom solutions to support competitive customer engagements and demonstrate Databricks differentiation.
  • Collaborate with DSAs, SAs, FDEs, partners, and senior architects on complex customer solutions.
  • Influence product direction through structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps.
  • Use Python and PySpark/Spark for live coding, debugging, and solution building.
  • Contribute to customer-facing content, workshops, community engagement, and Field Engineering thought leadership.
  • Drive platform adoption and consumption growth within customer accounts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
  • Strong expertise in cloud security, identity, encryption, vulnerability management, compliance, cloud IAM, enterprise identity services, and federation standards.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud networking, VPC/VNet design and peering, dedicated interconnects, private connectivity, routing, performance optimization, and large-scale deployments.
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, cluster orchestration, observability, auditing, and cloud cost management.
  • Hands-on infrastructure automation experience with Terraform and cloud-native IaC tools.
  • Strong coding proficiency in Python and PySpark/Spark, including live coding, debugging, and solution development.
  • Grounding in distributed data systems, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
  • Proficiency with the Databricks Platform or the ability to become proficient rapidly, with developing specialization in an area such as streaming, ML/AI, governance, or migrations.
  • Ability to participate in architecture discussions, whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analysis with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex architectures into business value for technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include Databricks certifications, professional-level cloud certifications, and experience with Snowflake, cloud-native data services, Azure Synapse, or BigQuery.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
