Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level software support at the customer site by investigating bugs, analyzing data, and troubleshooting ABB converters.
  • Adapt and extend existing software and documentation to address customer needs while following standards and homologation requirements.
  • Test and troubleshoot software in diverse environments and support customers during vehicle commissioning and homologation.
  • Travel extensively to support customer activities, including likely night and weekend work.
  • Coordinate technical solutions with peers to maximize software reuse, reduce bugs, and accelerate standardization.

Requirements

  • University or higher-education degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
  • At least four years of experience in software development involving closed-loop control, signal processing, algorithms, real-time programming mechanisms, and commissioning.
  • Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including CODESYS, and MATLAB Simulink.
  • Experience with software versioning tools such as SVN and Git.
  • Broad knowledge of converter control, power electronics, or automotive systems.
  • Experience with communication protocols and field buses, including CAN, TRDP, J1939, and MVB.
  • Understanding of software development process standards such as EN 50657, EN 50128, or ISO 26262 is a plus.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to work onsite at customer locations and travel extensively.
