Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust embedded software using modern C++ and embedded Linux with PetaLinux.
- Explain technical projects, including the problems addressed and solutions implemented.
- Work with complex software systems, SDKs, third-party APIs, testing tools, and bench systems.
- Use, create, and improve simulators for software testing.
- Apply testing methodologies, including black-box input and output testing.
- Debug communication problems between software and hardware devices.
- Perform codebase migrations to new environments or operating systems.
- Relate prior technical work to aerospace, government, and defense-sector needs.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Extensive experience with modern C++ and embedded Linux, including PetaLinux.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, software-system complexity, simulators, and testing methodologies.
- Experience with technical documentation, UML diagrams, Confluence, Visio, and Doxygen.
- Strong debugging, complex problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site four days per week in St. Louis, Missouri.
- Preferred: Linux or VxWorks, kernel development, distributed computing, Python, Java, and aerospace, government, or defense-sector experience.
