Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware components for Rockwell Automation industrial devices.
- Implement and validate features involving network protocols, controller runtime functions, and platform or OS services.
- Debug firmware, analyze defects, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve complex system-level issues.
- Participate in requirements analysis, system design, architecture discussions, and creation of high- and low-level design documentation.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD-driven quality workflows.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with embedded coding standards.
- Mentor less experienced engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to technical decisions and process improvements.
- Collaborate with embedded teams across Katowice, the USA, Singapore, and Czechia.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation and Robotics, Electronics, or a related IT field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 5+ years of practical software development experience in C++ and 5+ years of embedded systems firmware development and debugging.
- Knowledge of network protocols, embedded systems architecture, or real-time operating systems such as QNX or VxWorks.
- Practical experience with GitHub or GitLab and CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
- Fluent English at B2 level or higher.
- Preferred qualifications include Python programming, industrial automation systems, multiple hardware platforms or SoC architectures, embedded security, safety standards, product certification workflows, industrial network protocols, hardware-software interaction, real-time systems, and hardware debugging tools such as Lauterbach and JTAG.
