Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate models for yield improvement, screening accuracy, and process optimization.
  • Apply model selection, hyperparameter tuning, statistical analysis, and experimental design.
  • Deploy AI/ML in manufacturing systems using edge AI, API serving, containerization, and cloud-based training and inference.
  • Integrate AI/ML pipelines with existing production workflows and MES systems.
  • Develop reusable data pipelines, analytical tools, dashboards, and model-monitoring methods.
  • Support process characterization, design of experiments, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Establish and share ML best practices across the site and other company sites.
  • Communicate results and collaborate with photonics designers and process, reliability, manufacturing, and software engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with AI/ML, preferably including machine learning and statistical analytical techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, with specialization in Data Science, AI/ML, or Statistics.
  • Expertise with deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Expertise with CNNs, RNNs, GANs, Random Forests, and Gradient Boosting.
  • Experience with clustering, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, model deployment, containerization, and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency with SQL and modern data-processing or data-platform technologies.
  • Familiarity with regression, classification, anomaly detection, model evaluation, and experimental design.
  • Python and common data-science and machine-learning libraries are a plus.
  • Experience with CUDA, LibTorch, ONNX Runtime, C++, and data structures is a strong plus.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or Databricks for cloud-based ML training and inference is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machine vision, defect detection, OCR, Hadoop, and Spark is a plus.
  • Manufacturing, wafer fabrication, photonics, or telecommunications experience is a plus.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
