Responsibilities
- Design and evolve event-driven distributed systems with reliable asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, backpressure, and failure handling.
- Develop and maintain frontend and backend components supporting algorithms and AI-powered features.
- Build and optimize production LLM solutions, including cloud model integration and quality, latency, and cost management.
- Develop information-extraction pipelines involving classification, OCR, document layout analysis, model-based extraction, prompt design, refinement, and validation.
- Own frontend foundations including monorepo package management, build orchestration, shared React components, TypeScript architecture, and build performance.
- Design and maintain Terraform infrastructure and contribute to AWS architecture, including networking, load balancing, API gateways, IAM, encryption, key management, logging, and metrics.
- Design CI/CD workflows, support component, integration, and automated UI testing, and establish observability across distributed pipelines.
- Optimize containerized services for performance and cost, define development standards, resolve technical issues, improve productivity, and mentor Squad members as a Technical Leader.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- At least five years of significant software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, React, AWS, and REST APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, frontend architecture, monorepos, shared React component libraries, TypeScript type design, and build optimization.
- Experience with Terraform, AWS networking and infrastructure, CI/CD systems, production LLM- or model-backed features, and cloud model integration.
- Knowledge of AI, generative AI, RAG, MLOps, prompt design, OCR, document layout analysis, and information extraction.
- Experience with component, integration, and automated UI testing, plus strong observability, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada; Quebec-based candidates must be bilingual due to regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues.
- Nice-to-have qualifications include migration leadership, emulated cloud-service development environments, container optimization, and developer mentoring or Technical Lead experience.
