Base Salary
$405k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Independently scope and lead complex, multi-month platform engineering projects.
- Drive cross-organizational alignment through ambiguous technical problem spaces.
- Make architectural decisions shaping how Anthropic builds and scales its products.
- Build and operate secure, fast, and reliable infrastructure for untrusted code execution and Claude’s agentic capabilities.
- Partner with research teams to productize cutting-edge capabilities.
- Own foundational platform systems end to end from design through deployment and operations.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems.
- Experience operating at a technical lead level or equivalent in distributed systems, cloud-native products, developer tools, or external developer-facing products.
- Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design.
- Experience owning the technical vision and execution of a foundational platform system end to end.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems languages.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and/or multi-cloud networking.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions independently, navigate ambiguity, and operate in both early-stage and mature environments.
- Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, and easy-to-use platform solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field or through relevant coursework, training, or professional experience.
