Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of highly available, low-latency Lambda data plane systems handling customer traffic across AWS Regions.
  • Set technical direction across teams and influence the AWS Lambda roadmap.
  • Own complex problems end to end from customer needs through design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Improve invocation latency, scaling speed, efficiency, security, and resilience.
  • Deliver new serverless compute experiences for web, event-driven, and instance-based workloads.
  • Mentor engineers and lead design and code reviews.
  • Set operational standards for observability, deployment safety, and incident response, and drive lasting fixes.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering leaders, and partner AWS teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
