Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own customer implementations end-to-end, including discovery, integration design, build, validation, and go-live.
- Convert customer-specific work into reusable platform components, tools, and documented integration patterns.
- Integrate customer hardware, firmware, and backend systems into the Aerovy cloud.
- Design and implement integration and ingestion pipelines for customer data.
- Lead technical discovery, propose integration strategies, and resolve customer-side dependencies.
- Own engineering workstreams within implementation plans covering kickoff, scoping, readiness, UAT, and go-live.
- Support monitoring, debugging, and validation across edge-to-cloud workflows.
- Translate customer needs into clear engineering requirements for the platform team.
- Develop repeatable processes and infrastructure for Forward Deployed workflows.
- Hire and lead junior Forward Deployed Engineers as the organization grows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to a software engineering team, including customer-facing delivery, implementation, or solutions engineering.
- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, a scientific field, or an engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and in C# or Java.
- Strong understanding of networking and IoT fundamentals, including TCP/IP, MQTT, and REST APIs.
- Experience working with technical and non-technical customer stakeholders and translating requirements into engineering work.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation for external audiences.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites.
- Experience with embedded systems, IoT devices, telematics, or industrial hardware is desirable.
- Experience translating device data over CAN, Modbus, MQTT, or custom serial protocols is desirable.
- Experience with enterprise customers, cloud/IaaS infrastructure and tooling, Docker, and real-time analytics or time-series databases is desirable.
