Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate product vision into technical solutions.
- Design and build scalable APIs using the Elixir Phoenix framework.
- Architect data models and optimize PostgreSQL and Cassandra queries and indexes for large-scale workloads.
- Use Redis and other in-memory data stores to improve scalability and responsiveness.
- Lead complex debugging and incident resolution across the stack using logging and monitoring tools.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and help elevate the team’s technical capabilities.
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, development practices, architectural patterns, workflows, and coding standards.
- Ensure project coherence and uphold overall technical quality.
- Contribute to technical strategy and identify opportunities for new programs, products, and features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience with Elixir designing and building high-performance RESTful web services serving billions of requests per day.
- High-level experience with SQL infrastructure and data modeling.
- Ability to adapt to ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and learn quickly in a fast-paced team environment.
