Base Salary

$166k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build the control plane for Databricks’ global ingress layer, including programming API gateways with static and dynamic endpoints.
  • Create abstractions for service connectivity, discovery, and reliability across thousands of clusters.
  • Design scalable service discovery and load balancing mechanisms for service-to-service communication.
  • Build rate-limiting and admission-control systems to protect critical services under high load.
  • Enable secure API exposure across clouds and predictable performance for customer-facing and internal workloads.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, Scala, Go, or C++.
  • Experience with service-oriented architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Track record of shipping infrastructure that supports mission-critical workloads at scale.
  • Preferred background in service discovery, DNS, load balancing, Envoy, or related networking systems.
