Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate C and C++ embedded software for traction motor controllers and auxiliary logic controllers.
- Define application requirements, system architecture, specifications, and verification and validation strategies for power-electronics drive-control systems.
- Develop and maintain control algorithms for AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC converters, including traction inverters, active front-end converters, and dual active bridge converters.
- Own next-generation control architectures and implementations centered on Zynq FPGA and embedded processor platforms.
- Support system-level integration of controllers and components into locomotive and off-highway mining-truck platforms.
- Investigate software reliability issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate new electric-drive control technologies and improve diagnostics, reliability, data analysis, runtime interfaces, and troubleshooting approaches.
- Lead technical objectives, communicate program priorities, collaborate across functions and locations, and maintain compliant technical documentation.
- Perform design, analysis, validation, and testing activities in laboratory and field environments with high-power electrical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum four years of hands-on experience developing control software for electric drives and power electronics, including inverters, AFE rectifiers, or DC-DC converters.
- Strong embedded software development skills in C and C++, with experience using MATLAB, Simulink, and Perforce.
- Experience with modern embedded processor platforms, embedded development practices, and model-based design.
- Deep knowledge of power-electronics converter topologies and control algorithms.
- Understanding of electric motor fundamentals, torque and speed control methods, and electrical machines.
- Working knowledge of digital control systems, DSP concepts, digital I/O, filtering, and stability analysis.
- Experience with software development, validation, and system-level testing for transportation or industrial drive systems.
- Willingness to work hands-on in laboratory and field environments with high-power electrical systems.
- A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and exposure to locomotive or traction systems, are preferred.
