Base Salary

$160k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of spacecraft software and system-level solutions for Ranger spacecraft programs.
  • Develop and manage system requirements, interface definitions, technical baselines, verification plans, and traceability.
  • Define interfaces between flight software, ground software, mission operations systems, and spacecraft hardware.
  • Drive software integration, system validation, testing, deployment, operational readiness, and mission execution planning.
  • Conduct architecture trade studies, technical assessments, design analyses, risk assessments, and architecture evaluations.
  • Lead technical reviews, customer interactions, executive briefings, design reviews, and technical presentations.
  • Mentor engineers and promote systems engineering practices, software quality, and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to software development, integration, and resolution of complex technical issues across the spacecraft lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, including software development for aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems.
  • Experience developing and managing complex spacecraft or aerospace systems and developing flight software architectures.
  • Experience designing large-scale software systems and distributed software architectures.
  • Experience managing interfaces among flight software, ground software, mission operations systems, and spacecraft hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements development, interface management, verification, validation, and configuration management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical efforts across software and hardware engineering organizations.
  • Experience supporting spacecraft development, integration, testing, launch preparation, or mission operations.
  • Preferred experience includes spacecraft operations, autonomy, navigation, GNC, terrain-relative navigation, autonomous navigation, orbital guidance, propulsive maneuver planning, model-based engineering, and automated development workflows.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR regulations.
