Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction, priorities, and architectural decisions for complex machine learning projects.
  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable ML/software systems.
  • Define project problems, create roadmaps, and oversee delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Develop shared resources and libraries and guide engineers contributing to them.
  • Lead hiring, make selection decisions, and mentor multiple engineers.
  • Recommend new technologies and changes to ways of working.
  • Coach customers, estimate large workstreams, and explain technical decisions to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills and practical experience operationalising models with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Expertise in at least one major cloud provider: Azure, GCP, or AWS.
  • Experience leading teams to build full-stack web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to manage and coach engineers and set team-wide development goals.
  • Technical depth and breadth, strong problem-solving ability, and ownership of project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with technical teams, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
