Responsibilities
- Set technical direction, priorities, and architectural decisions for complex machine learning projects.
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable ML/software systems.
- Define project problems, create roadmaps, and oversee delivery across multiple workstreams.
- Develop shared resources and libraries and guide engineers contributing to them.
- Lead hiring, make selection decisions, and mentor multiple engineers.
- Recommend new technologies and changes to ways of working.
- Coach customers, estimate large workstreams, and explain technical decisions to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and practical experience operationalising models with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Expertise in at least one major cloud provider: Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Experience leading teams to build full-stack web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to manage and coach engineers and set team-wide development goals.
- Technical depth and breadth, strong problem-solving ability, and ownership of project outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills for working with technical teams, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC).
