Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship high-quality code across infrastructure technologies, systems, and processes.
- Build customer experiences for internal and external Stripe teams using Stripe infrastructure.
- Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization.
- Deliver value through collaboration with multiple customers and stakeholders across Stripe.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the technology stack.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills and passion for an area of infrastructure engineering.
- Ability to write high-quality code in programming languages such as Go, Java, or C/C++.
- 2–12+ years of professional hands-on software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and commonly used data structures.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across team workstreams and support peers.
- Customer focus and ability to represent customer experience in forums to drive outcomes.
- Ability to thrive with substantial autonomy and responsibility and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Preferred: experience optimizing the end-to-end performance of distributed systems.
- Preferred: focus on the needs of internal and external users and commitment to a high quality bar in production work.
